What little girl (or even big girl) wouldn't want a fairy tale castle cake?
Unfortunately they are a real challenge to make, involving many different skills that can take months to perfect if learnt individually. Come and learn it all in just ONE day.
We'll teach you to professionally split, fill and stack your cakes, then make the straightest turrets that won't fall down. Using a wealth of sugar craft techniques you'll decorate your castle and take home a cake fit for a princess.. Alternatively you may prefer to make a boy version complete with baby dragon.

- How to colour pastillage
- How to make castle turrets
- How to split, fill and crumb coat a Maderia cake
- How to cover your cakes with sugar paste to achieve a smooth professional finish
- How to stack your cakes using dowels
- How to use texture mats and textured rolling pins
- How to assemble your castle with turrets, roofs, steps, windows, doors
- How to pipe vines and leaves
- How to transport castle cakes
- Finishing touches for your castle
- Tutorial – how to use the skills you have learnt in different projects
Everything provided including 2 Madeira cakes all icings, board and box. Course attendees will also receive a full set of course notes and a 10% discount on items purchased in the cake decorating supplies shop on the day of your course.
- What's the skill level?
Any level, beginners and upwards. This is a lovely follow on from our more basic cake decoration courses such as Back to Basics, Introduction to cake decorating or the One Day Professional Cake Decorating.
- Are there any age restrictions?
Age 14+ (under 16 must be accompanied by an adult who is also attending the course)
- What are the course times?
This course is a full day course 9.30am – 3.30pm with a half hour (approx.) break for lunch.
- What do I need to bring?
An apron if you have one. You may like to bring a sandwich or alternatively lunch may be ordered from the coffee shop next door (order when you arrive, it will be delivered at lunch time)
