Top Tips
- Knead the sugar paste until soft and pliable
- Use a little cornflour, rather than icing sugar, to prevent sticking as you are kneading and rolling.
- To help you roll out your icing evenly, you can use “spacers”
- Covering your cake board in sugar paste gives that professional touch
- Use a 15mm ribbon to edge the board to complete your work of art
- You could experiment by colouring the sugar paste, but only use colour paste, as a liquid would just leave you with a sticky mess! Paste colour is highly concentrated and so use only a tiny amount on the tip of a cocktail stick until you reach your desired colour
- At Confection Perfection we stock ready coloured sugar paste, or you can choose to colour your own from our large range of paste colours, enabling you to create your own rainbow!
Happy Icing!
